(A COMMITTEE AGAINST SEXUAL HARASSMENT OF WOMEN AT WORK PLACE)

As per the guidelines of Supreme Court, UGC, Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace(Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal Act, 2016), an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) on Sexual Harassment has been established by the college.

The objective of this committee is to provide Protection against Sexual Harrassment of women at work place and in order to maintain fundamental rights of women to equality and her right to life and live with dignity and to maintain safe environment free from sexual harassment and protection of the human rights as per the “VISHAKA GUIDELINES”.

Sexual Harassment includes unwelcome sexually determined behaviour (whether directly or by implication) such as:

  1. Physical Contact and advances;
  2. A demand or request for sexual favours;
  3. Sexually Coloured remarks;
  4. Showing Pornography;
  5. Any other Unwelcome Physical, Verbal or Non-Verbal conduct of Sexual Nature.

The Women Employee is also at liberty to file a complaint for its redressal which will be decided in time bound period and the name of the complainant will be kept secret.

There after inquiry if the person is found to be guilty, he will be subjected to the specific offences as per the Indian Penal Code or under any other law and will be subjected to the disciplinary action as per the service rules.
